The two-day 1st International Stunt Festival – 3, 2, 1 Action!, organized by Kino Edison, a multimedia center for cultural and tourism content in Karlovac, concluded on Saturday, May 25, with an awards ceremony announcing the winners for Best Stunt in the Female and Male categories.
The Pegasus Trophy was awarded to Tjaša Perko (Slovenia) for her stunt performance in The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, and to Slaven Perković (Croatia) for his stunt in the television series The Missing (Nestali).
The winners were selected by a four-member international jury consisting of Carl Stück (Germany), Rok Cvetkov (Slovenia), Goran Stjepanović, and director Kristijan Milić (both from Croatia).
The Festival opened with spectacular stunt performances at the Amphitheater in Duga Resa, co-organized with the Four Rivers Area Tourist Board. As part of the Festival’s official opening at Kino Edison, visitors had the opportunity to watch the film Number 55, considered the best action film about the Croatian War of Independence based on a true story. Following the screening, a discussion was held with director Kristijan Milić and members of the film’s stunt team.
The second day of the Festival brought visitors plenty of excitement and engaging conversations with stunt performers, who revealed how one becomes a stunt professional, shared many secrets of the trade, and recounted their experiences from working on major international productions. The afternoon was reserved for action on wheels, delivering an excellent combination of adrenaline and behind-the-scenes anecdotes.
led by Carl Stück, one of Europe’s most decorated stunt performers, a three-time recipient of the prestigious Taurus World Stunt Award, a precision driver, and stunt coordinator who has overseen around 200 episodes of the popular series Cobra 11.
The Festival concluded in an excellent atmosphere, and to the delight of everyone who followed it, Kino Edison is already moving forward with ideas for its second edition. The organizers expressed their gratitude to the patrons — the City of Karlovac, Karlovac County, the Karlovac Tourist Board — as well as to all partners and friends of the Festival.
